Publisher and data controller: Fomichev Aleksandr. Individual, Germany. Contact and support: produktwatch.app@gmail.com.

Why we process data: to display requested products, deliver chosen notifications, and operate and protect the service.

Camera frames are processed on the device to read barcodes. ProduktWatch does not upload camera frames. Camera access is optional; manual GTIN entry remains available.

Requested GTIN and language are sent to the ProduktWatch API. Photos are downloaded from OFF and allowed image sources, which receive connection information including an IP address. Source links open in the browser.

Notifications send a random installation ID and selected GTIN to our server. It stores a hash of the ID, GTIN and subscription update time. No account or email is required.

Viewing history, favourites, settings, photo cache and notification state are stored locally. Android backup is disabled. Unsubscribing from the last product deletes the server subscription file; without renewal it is removed by the next worker run after seven days.

Technical connection logs may contain IP address, time, requested product address and browser/app identification. Logs rotate daily; the current log and up to 14 previous daily logs are retained.

Google ML Kit may process installation identifiers, device/app information, performance, errors and usage events for diagnostics and usage analytics.

Clear viewing history and cache in the app, or all local app data in Android settings. Unsubscribe before clearing app data. Shared product history contains no installation ID and is retained as version evidence.

Hosting: Hetzner, Nuremberg, Germany. Product information comes from Open Food Facts and other sources identified in each product card.

Your rights and contact: subject to applicable legal conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction and portability, and object to processing. You may withdraw consent for future processing. Contact produktwatch.app@gmail.com. You may also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, particularly where you habitually reside.

External services: processing by Google and external data/photo sources is also described in their own privacy notices. These services may process data outside Germany. ML Kit information: https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/android-data-disclosure
